Once we have the pattern and core boxes (if required) completed, it is time for rigging the pattern. Rigging the pattern means putting on the gating and risering. This is a very important part of the process because the gating and risering have to match exactly what we have simulated in our Magma Simulation Program. Once the gating and risers are on the pattern, it is time to put it on one of our automatic molding machines for a 20 mold sampling. During the sampling process we check for porosity, shrinkage, metal walls and any other specific requirements that the customer has specified. Be sure to check our blog next month.
