Energy & Power Generation

Bremer Manufacturing Co., Inc. provides custom aluminum castings for manufacturers across the United States, including companies serving the Energy & Power Generation industry. With experience in electrical power generation and power distribution applications, Bremer supports customers that require dependable cast components for industrial equipment.

The company combines casting with core making, CNC machining, heat treating, finishing, inspection, and other secondary processes. This range of capabilities allows Bremer to support projects through multiple stages of production while maintaining a direct focus on the customer’s specifications, production requirements, and quality expectations.

Services for the Energy & Power Generation Industry

Energy and power equipment manufacturers often require aluminum components with specific shapes, internal features, and dimensional requirements. Bremer provides the casting and manufacturing capabilities needed to produce these components, from initial molding through secondary processing.

Bremer’s complex aluminum castings can accommodate detailed geometries and configurations required for electrical and power equipment. Aluminum provides a practical combination of strength, relatively low weight, corrosion resistance, and thermal conductivity for many industrial applications. Bremer’s casting capabilities support components ranging from smaller parts to castings weighing up to 120 pounds.

For larger or more complicated components, Bremer offers air set sand casting, also known as no-bake molding. This process provides flexibility for producing substantial aluminum castings with intricate configurations. Bremer’s air-set operation includes sand and binder mixing, aluminum melting, automatic shakeout, and sand reclamation. The company can produce air-set castings from approximately 5 to 120 pounds, with flask sizes up to 48 by 60 inches.

Core making is also available to support castings that require internal cavities, passages, or other internal features. Bremer produces warmbox and shell cores using dedicated core-making equipment. Keeping core production connected with the casting operation helps maintain coordination throughout the manufacturing process.

Once castings are produced, Bremer can provide additional processing to bring components to their required specifications. CNC machining can provide finished dimensions and mounting features, while other available services include heat treating, grinding, burnishing, assembly, leak testing, and finishing. Having these capabilities available through one manufacturer can simplify production for customers and reduce the need to coordinate multiple outside suppliers.

  • Casting capabilities: Complex aluminum castings, air-set/no-bake molding, green sand molding, and core making.
  • Secondary processing: CNC machining, heat treating, grinding, burnishing, assembly, leak testing, and finishing.
  • Application focus: Components for electrical power generation and power distribution equipment.

Quality Assurance

Quality is a key part of Bremer’s manufacturing process. The company maintains an ISO 9001:2015-certified quality management system and applies inspection procedures throughout production to verify that castings meet specified requirements.

Bremer uses dimensional inspection equipment, material and chemical verification, and other quality-control processes to evaluate finished components. In-house X-ray inspection is also available to identify internal casting conditions, while leak testing can be performed for components where pressure-tight performance must be verified.

These capabilities give Energy & Power Generation manufacturers greater visibility into component quality before parts move into their equipment or assembly processes. Bremer’s quality approach supports consistent production while keeping inspection and manufacturing closely connected.
