ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate potential mechanical failures.
• Dismantle machines to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examine form and texture of machined parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repair or replace worn or defective parts including pumps, piping, hoses, valves and cylinders.
• Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricate and clean parts.
• Assemble machines following proper sequence using schematics and start machines to test their performance.
• Setup and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Inform supervisor of needed parts and low inventory of parts.
• Repair electrical equipment and performs wiring of outlets.
• Perform arc, plasma cutting, torching, and wire welding.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Operate and basic repair forklifts.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• May supervise others in absence of supervisor.
• Must be willing to contribute to team activities which would include process and safety improvement.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

JOB TITLE: Pouring Operator/Furnace
SUMMARY: Pour hot metal into molds and monitors, clean and fill furnaces to melt metal prior to casting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Load aluminum ingot and gating into furnace by hand.
2. Operate furnace controls to maintain specified temperature.
3. Observe color and consistency of metal to maintain quality.
4. Observe color of instruments and tools to maintain safety.
5. As applicable, add flux to molten metal inside furnace to bring impurities to the surface while forming a layer of film, which is subsequently skimmed off.
6. Monitor level of gas inside furnace. Take samples and check against standard on process sheets and gas level charts. May operate degasser to remove gas from furnace.
7. Manipulate foot levers or hand valve to open and close furnace lid. Dip ladle into furnace for transportation to molds.
8. Transports ladle to pouring station and pours appropriate amount of metal into molds according to process sheets and height of mold.
9. Maintain cleanliness of work area.
10. Perform Furnace Tender duties as required.
11. Must be willing to contribute to team activities which would include process and safety improvement.

We are looking for full time positions on 1st shift.

Current Work Schedule:

Monday – Thursday, 10 hours

Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for overtime based off production requirements – currently working Fridays and a couple Saturdays a month

1st shift – 4:30am to 2:30pm

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Good verbal and written communication
• Ability to work independently
• Strong Attention to details

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Participate in implementation of IATF 16949
2. Assist in maintaining compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certifications
3. Assist with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 audits
4. Responsible for managing new supplier qualifications and existing supplier performance issues on a technical/quality front
5. Understanding of programming and operation of various quality equipment, i.e. CMM, Romer Arm, Spectrometer, Tensile Tester, X-Ray, etc.
6. Participate in PPAP preparation and documentation
7. Assist in maintaining calibration system
8. Participate in GR&R and capability studies, along with quality related processes and meetings
9. Effectively utilize various measuring devices
10. Utilize and understand S.P.C.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. Technical school training in quality and/or related courses.
3. Experience in Quality required, including experience with ISO 9000 and IATF 16949.
4. Experience in programming CMM (PC-DMIS) preferred.
5. Experience in Romer Arm inspecting preferred.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

1. Must have, or be able to gain, competency on various computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), PC-DMIS (CMM), Geomagic (Romer), Spectro software, Tensile tester software.
2. Must be familiar with or, preferably, able to operate metallurgical testing equipment (spectrometer, tensile tester, etc.).
3. Willingness to learn and/or be trained on the following:
   1. Blueprint reading.
   2. Gage operation and maintenance (including x-ray, Spectrometer, CMM, and other gages).
   3. An understanding of gating and risering

11. Interact with supervision and plant senior management on resolving plant quality issues and process improvements providing records and analysis.
